We have 3 banknotes. Bank of Scotland, Clydesdale Bank and Royal Bank of Scotland. All different.

Because, hard though I realise this is for you to grasp, not everybody shares your misconceptions about what legal tender is.

According to the loonies in here, you should have been arrested for not paying in the correct legal tender in that restaurant....
Now they have chips they are better, but I always used to rub the magnetic strip and/or signature strip off as I kept two or more together in my pocket. The raised 16 digit number was not compatible with the magnetic strip. Very poor design.

They would be bloody stupid not to.
They look exactly like the English ones, but they say Scotland instead of England. There is as much variation between different editions of an English note as between an English and a Scottish one. Do you know all the English ones?
