Does anyone know whether a DD payment set up and paid into a A&L Direct ISA or Online Saver made through the online banking service becomes a regular DD - I know A&L's FAQs say "we only take your money when you ask us to" - but this could mean we'll take your instructions to pay this DD every month ongoing rather than the one-off that I intend the DD to be!

Why didnt you just pay them rather than set it up as a DD?
Because you can only pay-in by DD online and no payments are accepted in the branches...
You cant make a payment by internet banking?
They expect you to make a one off payment by DD?
It seems crazy!
It sounds a bit like the Tesco savings account, except that with that you could send them a cheque.
With Tesco, if you had set up internet banking, you could set up a Direct Debit from your current account to your savings account. You could then select from your internet banking page to request a payment using the direct debit. However you were always in control.
