No. A P45 is a form given by an employer to an employee leaving their employment. It contains the employee's PAYE tax code, tax paid (if applicable) and the week or month number they left employment. When the employee gains further employment, they give the P45 to their new employer, which then enables them to start using the tax tables for their new employee with the correct code PAYE code number and tax paid to date.

A notice of coding simply informs the employee of their PAYE code number.
