Fund manager found dead after Madoff losses:

"he had been managing about ?2 billion (1.89 billion) for European clients, of which three quarters had been invested with Mr Madoff."

Do these people not learn about eggs and baskets when they are young?

Surely if you have a substantial sum to invest, the very first thing that you do is make sure that you have spread your risk. What did the guy think that HE was being paid (a very large sum) to do. Investing 75% in one place is pure laziness. If his investors had wanted their money all in one fund they could have made that decision for themselves.

He probably thought that he was getting them the best return as that fund was out performing everything else. Shame he didn't stop to think about why that could be.
