Are people from Ireland going to Northern Ireleand to get cheap Macs? (the euro is raping the pound)

Is this happening in large numbers?

It seems that it happening in droves... with people travelling more than 2 hrs to get there. The South will be the poorer because of it though...what is spent in the north is the loss of that in the south is my guess.

I guess any money spent north or south of the border might benefit the economy of the island of Ireland as a whole (...though it is slightly ironic to see so many citizens of the republic flocking northwards to pour value added taxes into the coffers of Her Majesty's Treasury)

Some shopkeepers in Newry, Co. Down, right beside the border, have said on local media that at present two out of every three customers are from the South! Dee

When it comes to value for money, politics never stopped smuggling or cross border shopping: TVs from Wales, booze from Newry, petrol and cattle crossing north or south depending on currency and taxes. The difference now is it's a safer trip: no more grumpy custom bods looking for camera lenses. That's the EU, not any Good Fridays...
