I was searching though moneysupermarket.com and noticed a new card issuer called Monument "Raphaels Bank".

Merry Christmas!

An annual interest rate of 34.9% !!!

Ret.

That corresponds to a monthly rate of "only" a touch over 2.5%. A little high, perhaps, but hardly outrageously out of the ordinary.

Just remember that credit cards are not meant for long term debt.

It baffles me why folk compare interest rates on credit cards. Surely it is widely known that if you pay before the deadline there IS no interest charged?

The only time I switched CC company was when the previous ones, Access and Barclaycard introduced annual charges. .

I'd never heard of them either, but they operate cashpoints at King's Cross and St Pancras mainline stations. I have to say I was a bit suspicious about using a cashpoint from a bank I'd never heard of. But it didn't charge me anything extra.
