Yes, we know you think not. Not never shown any sign of it in fact.

House prices are still rising.

They aren't tumbling yet. I'm still waiting, but I think it is now almost safe to start holding your breath.

I was up in Preston yesterday, and noticed a company advertising new houses with up to 10,000 off. Was amused to see that they`re having to offer discounts like that. Good news for those of us waiting to buy, bad news for everyone who jumped on the bandwagon thinking it`d make them rich :-)

Cheshire isn't remote.

Are you as stupid as you seem?

Other parts of the NW (Cumbria) are facing severe planning restrictions (quotas) on new house build. Anyone travelling down the West Coast Main Line can see lots of house building in Preston, and Lancaster for that matter.

And who would want to live in Preston, if they didn't have to?

Large areas of Leeds and Bradford and just are still rapidly rising, and according to an article on BBC Breakfast time so is Manchester

translation = "house prices are falling except in areas where they are rising".

translation="I read the daily mail and believe every headline that says that house prices are tumbling even when the text of the story doesn't say that at all" (as indicated by several messages you have posted here recently!).

x = rising y = falling x+y0 x=0.05 y=.95 :-)

Aha! I can see where sam1967 is going wrong - he can't add up! He seems to think that 0.05 plus 0.95 isn't 1, but 100!!!

Nonsense - and I don't need to read the papers. The prices have stabilised in Bucks and are starting to rise again.

So Bucks hasn't caught up with the national downwards trend then.

Look, two houses near me have recently sold for 20 grand more than was being achieved for identical houses 9 months ago, okay? And on the basis of that, another house has just come on to the market. You believe what you like. I'll believe the evidence of my own eyes. Oh, and these houses sold within ten days.

We moved 12 month ago sold for 78000, and identical house just up the road is up for 96000

maybe its a London national trend ?

Interesting. An estate agent here has just started sending me properties on their email list to me, despite having been signed up for over a year.

Desperation?
