If you get a £15k credit limit you must earn pretty well to begin with, I generally seem to get around £4k. In principle you might be able to get more than one card per six month period, but it's pushing it a bit.

My flexible, but non-offset mortgage has a rate of 4%, which is saving me more than £337 :)

Interesting marketing ploy, they can make people feel better about paying a higher interest rate :)

why just restrict yourself to barclays or abbey? i have several credit cards and switch money between them based on the best rates.

moneysupermarket.com has an online credit card comparison tool that allows you to find the best deal.

you can check it out here:

I havn't had any problems opening 5 cards in the last 3 months, all on

0% deals. I'm wondering how far to push it, I havn't been refused yet but my total credit limit is larger than my annual salary already!

It is easy to see how people get sucked into debt. Fortunately I'm just being sucked into hundreds of pounds interest on money lent to me interest free!

you are right, it's scary the way these cards are peddled.

I'll just pay them off if I can't roll them over - all the money is stashed in savings accounts or my mortgage.

Obviously I wouldn't advocate borrowing tens of thousands on 6 month

0% deals and then spending it! :-)
