best way to buy Australian shares?

I want to buy some shares in Macquarie communication infrastructure. (mcq.ax). I live in the UK.

This would probably be a buy and holkd for a few years, but an online nominee account would be useful in case I want to sell quickly (Ideally I'd like to set up a stop order).

I am not a big investor, and the foreign dealing accounts seem to charge around 100 / year account charge, unless you are pretty activly trading, in which case they'll settle for just the commission.

Does anyone know of a cheap online broker for Australian shares?

Would there be liquidity problems when I come to sell - are there many market makers for this type of stock?

Hi,

I have been trying to find out the same thing with little success, I think TD Waterhouse allows access to the Aussie market but by telephone dealing only.
