Hi Anyone know a decent business bank account with low charges and which doesnt need a letter from some bloody Accountant before it can be opened?

HSBC? I've just opened a business account and got free banking for a year, and a Mastercard Business Card (charge card). I do bank with them on a personal level, whether that makes a difference or not I am unsure.

How about a decent business bank account with NO charges? I can highly recommend Abbey Free Business Banking Forever. However, it may not be right for your particular business - check their website to see if number of free transactions per month etc suits your particular business.

Abbey National. They don't offer branch banking, and if you have a cash business, it probably isn't much use to you.
Otherwise, there are no charges provided you keep within certain limits.
