Can I make my employer reinstate me back into SERPS?

I will be changing jobs after 20 years. I am in the company pension scheme which I do not believe is particularly good. I base this belief on the fact that the terms of the scheme have changed for the worst to deal with a shortfall, that the company practices 'clawback' (I am not particularly well paid to begin with) and that the company does not generally conduct itself with any integrity. I basically don't trust them. If I am put back into SERPS I will at least get something when I retire. Can I require them to do this?

If the scheme is "contracted-out" of SERPS, then the only way to be "put back into SERPS" would be to leave the scheme...

Are you actually contracted out of S2P right now? Just because you're in a company pension scheme doesn't mean you're not paying into S2P at the same time.
