Cashing foreign cheque (US Dollars)

I have a US Dollar cheque that I need to cash (around 600 GBP).

Does anyone know which of the following banks tend to offer the better exchange rate ??

Natwest Halifax Nationwide Smile

I know their actual fees vary, but I wondered if anyone has any experience on how good an exchange rate they offer.

Thanks in advance, Daniel

You'd have to ask. They wouldn't know. They would refer to you a different department who would then say it varied according to which way the wind was blowing and they couldn't put anything in writing as to what their charges were and they didn't have a leaflet about them either. They'd then promise to ring you back again with more info about it and then not. Oh hang on, you didn't include Bank of Scotland there.

Seriously though if its a regulr thing then try that citibank US $ account - apparently thats free. But not for business use.

Thanks I'll take a look at Citibank.

Does anyone have any experience with citibank US dollar accounts with them (or another bank)

Thanks Daniel
