CCJ against insolvent company

Hi,

I have a CCJ for money owed £1500 against an estate agent.

I just checked companies house and they have changed their name and became insolvent on 2/10/08.

Is there anything I can do to get my money or is that the end of the road.

Can I delay the closure of the company, should I have been paid as a creditor of the business?

Is the director of the company responsible for any of the debt?

Talk to the administrator/liquidator and say you are a creditor.

The director may be responsible but it's difficult to prove. The government seems quite happy to let directors defraud creditors.

Debbie gurgled happily, sounding much like they were saying:

If they're insolvent, then you're a creditor. Make sure the administrators know that.

But... they haven't got enough money to pay all their creditors, by definition. You may get a few pennies in the pound on your debt.

No.

Yes, although if they were only declared insolvent two months ago, creditors may not have been paid yet.

Not unless they gave you a personal guarantee of the debt.

Or if they took an illegal directors' loan which contributed to bringing about the company's insolvency.

What if the CCJ was as the result of an unlawful act by the company bearing his own name? It was a copyright infringement for which I charged my normal licensing fee.
