Credit Card minimum payment amount?

Hi there,

I have a Capital One Credit Card and at the moment the balance is at

65.15p.

I was wondering what the minimum payment amount would be? As it stands, I have to payback at least 3%

Thanks.

you can't work out 3% of £65.15?

Isn't there usually a minimum payment of £5?

The Minimum Payment is the least amount you need to send us each month. It is shown on your statement. It is typically calculated as 3% of your outstanding balance, or 5, whichever is the greater.

To make it dead easy, 10% of 65.15 is near enough 6.50 (you could probably do that in your head). Half of that (i.e. 5%) is 3.25. So it doesn't take an Einstein to realise that even if you paid 5% you would not be paying enough.

Incidentally, 'payback', as used in your first post is actually 2 words, 'pay back'. If you use it as one word you are using it as a noun, as in 'it's now payback time'. I'm collecting a list of instances where two words are jammed together when they shouldn't be, e.g. cut out, set up, every day.

Am I boring you?

Heavens, no. It's highly entertaining to see what outlandish things people collect. At least it's not bellybutton fluff. Or should that be bellybuttonfluff or belly buttonfluff or should there be a hyphen?

You're not collecting "a list", mind. You're *making* a list, *for which* you are collecting instances.

RR, nice to see you're back! Any further thoughts on the 'probabilities of PIN-guessing' thread, since my post of 03/02/2008 16:23 ... ?!

Do you still think the order of trying cards affects the probabilities of overall number of successes?

I do, yes. Be patient. I haven't had enough time to devote to thinking it through properly.

£5 I would imagine. I don't know the specific rules for Capital One though.
