Credit Card with the HIGHEST interest rate?

Sep 23, 2005 9 Replies

To stop me using a CC, or at least ensuring I pay it off monthly, I'd like to find the card with the HIGHEST monthly interest rate; can anyone recommend one with an interest rate in the 20% and above please? Yes I know I could just 'not have a card', but I need one for work purposes, so want to find one which I only use for that! TIA tim

I keep getting crap through the post for one that`s about 79% APR (no kidding !)

Vanquis? I am sure they offered me 49% - someone here reckons 69%!

Yahoo finance also reckons Asda at 28% - which is funny considering Tesco has been 0% for years!

That's the b*stards...

Sure it it was either 69% or 79%

Tesco's web site quotes 15.9% typical.

Vanquis Visa - 59.9% + annual fee.

Why do you need a CC for work purposes? Wouldn't a debit card work just as well or is there a particular need for a CC?

An alternative would be a charge card rather than a credit card (e.g. Amex Green

which has to be paid off in full. John.

Presumably tim is concerned about:

a) losing interest on his money that he's spending for his employer's benefit.

b) possibly having larger monthly expenses than his monthly salary, causing cashflow problems.

Best Regards, Alex.

Debit as in 'Switch', that sort of thing? I want a card I can use to pay hotel bills, petrol bills, and use it online as I don't really like using my Switch online.

Ahh, yes. That looked ideal, until I spotted the fees associated with them (cheapest is 37 pa :o(

Wonder if anyone does one of these without a fee. tim
