Discount ISA firms recommendation

Feb 04, 2004 5 Replies

Hi,

Can someone point me to some urls for firms which offer discount ISAs - i.e. ISAs with managed funds but by buying through them you get a discount?

Speaking of which, are there any safeguards for these firms or can any fly by night Harry set one up? Are there ones which are more reputable/loner established?

Thanks,

John.

Oh, found one - fundsnetwork.

Your have to be authorised by the FSA.

I have used Garrison Investment Analysis for years; very good.

I think.

The cheque you write is made payable to the fund itself, not to the discount shop.

I've used Chelsea Financial Services

Not bought anything from them for a while, but I think they refund the whole of their selling commission, so you get to buy for close to the selling rate, and they live off the annual renewal which the investment company pays them.

You make the cheques payable to the investment company anyway, they pass it through, so you should be pretty safe.

you've invested you can switch investments on line. Discounts are good and fairly informative newletters etc. They have some funds of their own too which seem to be doing OK - HL Ultimate fund is a fund of funds which seems to be doing particularly well with low management charges.
