Hi, I'm being offered a job with a car allowance per month, plus a fuel card of up to £150 per month. I will commute to work by car or motorcycle, the distance door to door is about 5 miles, and I won't be doing any business miles.
Some questions:
1) Am I allowed to use the fuel card for ANY private mileage, or JUST commuting?
2) Will my tax code be changed because of this benefit?
3) Will I pay the tax for however much I spend on the fuel card?
I don't want to accept the fuel card and then find its actually not worth the hassle and end up getting stung in a tax code change.
Cheers
