Hi,
I'm looking to open a Stocks and Shares ISA in the forthcoming new tax year. I would like to do this with a fund supermarket/discount IFA, as the savings available seem to be significant and I can't see any disadvantage (unless anyone knows different???).
Can anyone recommend a fund supermarket? I'm interested in:
- Ability to make monthly contributions, and the occasional lump sum.
- Reasonably low minimum investments.
- Ability to move between funds with minimal penalty.
- Ideally, manage the whole thing online.
- All combined with, of course, low charges.
I know of a few possibilities (and I'm sure there are some I don't know about):
- Fidelity - looks good but charges much higher than elsewhere.
- moneyworld-ifa.co.uk - cheaper but more basic.
- Hargreaves-Lansdown - cheap and give you a refund on the annual charge as well as reducing the initial charge.
- Torquil Clark - messy website!
Does anyone have any experience and any recommendations of these or any other fund supermarkets? Which would you recommend and which would you avoid?
Many thanks in advance.
A
