Halifax £5 reward account

If you open a Reward current account and have at least one thousand paid in each month - they will give you £5 back each month.

I think I will try and set one up - I have just over a thousand from my pension each month.

I could have it paid in and then straight out after a couple of days automatically to my normal Co-op current account.

Do you think they'd allow/notice?

I would put sweet FA in the Halifax.....see my post below. Their fine for going overdrawn is 63.

A few of the customers doing so will get it wrong and go overdrawn. A lot will leave money in the account, "just in case". It's the statistics that matter, not individuals. So, dig out and enjoy their fiver - just don't make a mistake and hope that your pension provider doesn't either.

But why stop there? At today's lousy interest rates, why not move it around to get you "free" annual travel insurance, cashback , 6% interest for a year, etc, etc...?

I always thought that you were only really supposed to operate one current account, so they'd likely notice if there weren't the usual bills, direct debits etc.

limit is 3 accounts per branch? I think some of the MSE people are discussing having 15 accounts and just moving 1k about all month.

They might notic, but I doubt they`d care. I`ve got 4 current accounts with the Halifax (2 of which haven`t been used in months).
