Hi can anyone tell me what the value of Halifax shares were when they demutulised and gave me 200 shares? Thanks Ron

In June 1997, approximately £1465. But there has been a return of Capital (shares buyback or reconstruction (I can't exactly remember) in June 1999) of 16 shares at a value of about £130.

the shares were issued on 31/05/97 and at the end of trading on the first day had a value of 7.325/share, however if you are trying to calculate any gain you have made because you received them free their initial value was zero I believe (although I am sure others may correct me if I am wrong!) for capital gains tax purposes.

On the 1/6/99 there was a capital return which resulted in 37 shares being issued for every 40 shares you had.
