Halifax WebSaver

I opened a Halifax WebSaver via their website and then went to a branch to show my passport. They asked me for a utility bill and said I didn't have any. So they said can we check the voters' roll for your name and address, and I said yes. Then they told me to credit my account and that would trigger a link card being sent out, which I have received with no pin number. I have requested a new pin number and was told it would arrive in a few days, but after 10 day I am still waiting. When I try to access my account online, it is not accessible with a message saying "awaiting details", which means I have to show my details at a branch, which I did 4 weeks ago. Is this normal?

When I recently changed my address I had similar difficulty in trying to set up a WebSaver account online. The procedures involved are a bit complicated, and it's the kind of situation where, for security's sake, you need to deal with Halifax face to face.

Tiresome though it is, I advise you to go to your branch and get help. You should not have to wait so long, and if my experience was anything to go by, they will be very glad to help you and sort things out.
