What if you had 50,000. what would you do with it apart from blow it on hookers and blackjack? Would you invest it in a franchise or a business that would give a comfortable return? or look at isa's, oeic, stocks and shares or property perhaps? A whimsical question but one I may be facing. What would give me my best return? I know there are no definates but I would like this money to work for me. Any thoughts?

Simple plan:
Get a mortgage on a property - get some tenant suckers to pay for the mortgage.
Sell house in 4 years time.
That's no bloody use. He'd only come back here 4 years down the line asking "What if you had £100,000. What would you do with it?".
If I was happy in my job, I'd use it to improve my standard of living - invest a little and maybe move to a nicer house.
If I wasn't happy in my job I would buy a bar somewhere sunny.
