You do scheduled maintenance when demand is low.... after 10pm at night.

And how long does it take to put up a new opening page saying "We are not currently processing any deposits or any withdrawal requests through our internet accounts. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause our customers."

I logged in without any problems whatsoever, I'm beginning to understand how this confidence / panic thing works.

Their IT staff are trying to resolve the issue that customers who withdrew all their savings the day before withdrawals were stopped cannot access their account because when you close an Icesave account your passwords stop working. This has happened to me - the transfer did not take place but I can no longer access my account. I did manage to get through to Icesave and they tell me that their IT staff are working to re-instate the passwords that have been blocked so that customers in my position can at least see their account, even if they can't withdraw their money. This may be what they are working on.

I think you may be confusing ICICI bank with Icesave (or another Icelandic bank). Their parent company is in India:

Currently not subject to the Icelandic problem - and they guarantee the full £50000 under the FSA system.

Yes - sorry. I've got money in both Icesave and ICICI - but I'm a bit fixated on Icesave at the moment!!!

No apology necessary. I only mentioned it because for a time I thought ICICI was an icelandic bank.
