How long is a piece of string?
What interest rate are you planning to invest at? Do you plan to invest any of the 150K in tax free savings (ISAs for example)? At what rate do you pay income tax?
Without stating the obvious the best available with the option of being able to gain access at relativley short notice
Unsure of the advantages appart from the tax free aspect :-)

ICICI offer 5.45%. As far as I'm aware that is the best rate available with a straight forward account, see:

They had a few well publicised problems when they launched their HiSAVE account in this country but they seem to have sorted it out now - I haven't had any problems with them.

4% = 6K 5% = 7.5K 6% = 9K
As others have said, best rate for instant access is about 5.45% gross, paid by ICICI and Icesave. You could look at 'savings' on the

website, which will list the best deals under various scenarios.
Bear in mind that, if you put all your eggs into one basket, the FSA compensation scheme will cover you up to about £35,000 in any one bank. The ultra-cautious, or those with little faith in our comsumer and public debt mountain, spread their money around various institutions or keep it in a tin box under the bed.
