Invest in US property?

Some folks thing the dollar is cheap. Hence buying property in the US is a lot less expensive than it was a couple of months ago.

Assuming that there was an interest in buying a buy-to-let in the US (the US would call this a rental property or an investment property), what questions might folks have?

I have owned 'rental' (buy-to-let) since 1983 and started my investing in Silicon Valley when interest rates were 10.5%. I now own property in multiple markets so I can pretty easily compares things if people want to understand some of the differences.
