investing in property

Hello

With the way property prices are at the moment I am a little wary of getting involved in a BTL but wondered about the possibility of investing money in a sort of reverse equity release scheme. Do schemes or companies exist that do that sort of thing where I invest in someones elses property at below market value and when they move out in umteem years time the property reverts to me.

Thanks

One arrangement is very popular in France. When a property owner wants some money, they can sell the their property, but continue to live there or receive the rental income. Only on the death of the owner does the property pass to the "purchaser". The market value of these properties depends on the age of the owner.

It is not normally possible to buy property at below market value. By definition, market value is what people are willing to pay. If someone has approached you with some complex scheme with a fancy name that promises propertes for below market value, they are trying to con you. The only way I know of buying at below market value is to either sleep with an estate agent or pass them several hundred pounds under the table.

Hello

I have been doing some research and it seems that a little over half the current market value of the property apeears to be the going rate. Of couse it is the company who decides the market value so assume this could be open to stretching....
