Is it legal to give my bank a mailbox address (whilst I'm in New Zealand)

Our mortgage statement (raised annually by the Halifax at that time) wasn't good enough for the Halifax when we tried to open a new account - the statement was more than 3-months old!

They did accept our HSBC statement though - which got me thinking. We moved the mortgage to the HSBC.

why does it matter what your address is ?

its your data they are sending and if your happy with it why not ?

Mmm... When I last moved I wrote a letter to my bank saying "here is my new address". That seemed quite sufficient. In fact, it would have been ludicrous of them not to change their records based on such a notification.

How will the bank know it's an accommodation address? Is there a registered list of MBE addresses and single-entity accommodation addresses held by the police or the Post Office, available to the banks? What is the PAF file?
