Joint pension question

I am 60, my wife is 35, when I retire, will the State pension be payable to me as a single person, or the higher rate married couple, as my wife will be under 60/65, or do we have to wait until she is 60/65 before we can claim married joint pension ?

You will need to be 65 to get yours. And your wife will need to be 65 before she is entitled either to her own in her own right or as a married woman because the woman's state retirement age has been phased in to that age.

Don't think that answers the question asked. You may be entitled to a married couple's pension, currently £123.80 per week, but that will depend on whether your wife is dependent on you and whether she has paid her own contributions.
