"Levelling"?

I have received some money paid in to my current account.



The description was LEVELLING



I contacted my bank for more details of what it was - they said it originated from sort code 30-96-34 and gave me an account number.



As far as I know I have no accounts at Lloyds (it's their sort-code) - I have small amount of their shares from the original Halifax handout



- I have not taken up the recent share issues



Does the term "levelling" have a specific meaning in financial terms?



Any ideas how I can find out what the source of the "donation" was - Lloyds have not been helpful - but I suspect that is because I have not found the right department.

You were entitled to 0.605 Lloyds shares for every HBOS share you held. Any fractional entitlement to Lloyds shares would be paid as cash. You need to speak to the Investor Relations department for help on this.
