Loanstock offer - invest in Unicorn's future For the third time in our history, we are offering investment in loanstock. The way we raised money to start up Unicorn, and then again to buy the building back in 2003, loanstock is a form of fixed term bond that organisations like us (Industrial and Provident Societies) can use to raise finance. It allows people with an interest in what we do to help us grow and prosper, while offering them a good investment at an interest rate of their choice. We are offering the bond over a 5 year fixed period (until January 2013), paid back at an interest rate between 0 and 6%, decided by the Loanstock holder.

...

So why would you decide less than 6%?

Also, how do they squeeze-in 5 years between now and January 2013 ??!

Because you want to support Unicorn grocery and organic farming.

Sounds like one of those Dragons' Den pitches that say "we aren't setting out to make a profit..." and get laughed back down the stairs.
