You misunderstand me, I'll put it another way. I have never said anything which would lead a reasonable person to become surprised that I disagree with the proposition.

OK. I did misunderstand. I thought you were claiming you hadn't said anything to indicate you disagreed with the statement.
I was just basing it on the fact that (as you agree) you tend to take the more libertarian attitude, and I would expect most people on that side of the fence to think that taxation is inherently a bad thing, even though it may be necessary.
No problem.
I don't see why Taxation is incompatible with libertarian principles simply because in exchange for paying say Income & Council Tax we have liberties & benefits which we would not otherwise have or enjoy.
