Nationwide to Introduce Charges

For drawing cash abroad, from CC first, then debit cards.

On the other side, they are speeding up electronic transfers to a couple of hours instead of 3/5 days, but only where the recipient bank also subscribes to fast transfer..

Damn! The main reason I opened an account with them was to be able to get commission-free cash with a debit card and make commission-free credit card purchases when abroad.

How do you know? I don't recall having received any notification of the change.

I saw this last week. It does not include the Eurozone which is still free of charges. You can check out the countries which remain free here:

It's been on the financial web sites for about a week so a quick google should give you a number of hits.

And it's the same 1% fee incorporated into the exchange rate that everybody else incorporates into the exchange rate before they (the others) add on their separately quoted 3% (minimum 3 pound) fee.

So NW is still going to be the best deal in town by a long way
