OT but still finance

just watching the F1 qualifying when they showed the new circuits being built at Abu Dhabi and then immediately Donnington............chalk and cheese if ever I have seen it.

That's because the Bahraini Government want to "buy" a place on the GP circus and HMG couldn't give a toss about the UK being a part of said circus. (FWIW I don't have problem with that view).

Consequently, a UK GP circuit has to cover its costs from income, whereas any loss that Abu Dhabi makes is just part of the country's marketing costs.
