Many Thanks MCN

What would be the advantage over a debit card ( e.g. Visa Delta)? Or is that not an option?

Some places don`t take Debit Cards only visa, fo example ordering by mail or over the internet, etc etc.

But it is still a debit card and as the OP said, not everyone will take debit cards.

Are you sure? I have never had my Visa Delta card declined by any retailer which accepted Visa.

Also a lot of people can still only get Visa Electron or Solo debit cards which some places on line just will not take. :(

IIRC the OP said people wont take cards that werent VISA or similar. I've used my debit card to do the same sort of things I'd use my credit card for and never had it refused. True I dont use it a great deal, but even so I'd have thought it would cover 95% of what you'd want with a credit card (though you wouldnt get the same sort of protection as a cc obviously.

There doesn't appear to be any reputable companies that offer this. There have been reports of a few that take your money and vanish.

Ah, a Pay and They Go card?

Starbucks in the UK do not take Delta cards.. Only Mastercard & Visa credit cards.

Ah - I've been to Starbucks. :)

Its not to do with a minimum spend limit is it?

Oops - getting past my bed-time - I missed out "not". :(
