Paying a credit card monthly bill with another credit card ?

hi all, hope this is the right group for this.

I pay(cash) my credit card monthly statement at my local bank, this month my statement did not arrive,i rang up the credit card company to inquire, and it was sent out over 2 weeks ago, anyway i have not received it,They will not send me another statement with a pay in slip, they said send a cheque, the problem is i only have a savings account no cheque book etc,so i cant do a cheque, and its going to take over a week to set up a current account,by that time i would have failed to pay the card, they will not accept a postal order either.I have the money sitting here with no way to get it to them.

i have another credit card different company can i use that to pay the bill,is that possible?what other options could i use?

i don't fancy being stung big time all the penalties etc.

thanks for your time.

Regards

Richard.

You either draw cash from the other card (interest is immediate) or do a balance transfer from one card to the other. The receiving card should arrange this, although there may well be a fee. (MBNA wanted to charge me

200 for a 0% transfer two days ago).

He *already has* cash, but no way to pay it into the card account, given that he has no paying in slip.

Another possibility, however, and I must say it seems strange that they are willing to take a cheque by post but not a postal order, is for him to ask a friend to write him a cheque in exchange for cash. It shouldn't be necessary for the cheque to be drawn on an account bearing his name, so long as it's clear to which card account the payment is to be applied.

The fee might exceed the interest he's hoping to save. :-)

I suggest, in the circumstances, his cardco should waive any interest which might accrue until next month's statement, since it is they who are denying him the opportunity to pay.

It is surely their responsibility to make sure he receives his statement and, more importantly, a paying-in slip. Proof of posting, as they say, is not proof of delivery.

Why not ask the CredCrdCo for the details of their bank account and then get the bank to hand write a pay-in slip for him quoting the bank details and his cardnumber and pay in his cash. That should work fine. Or get the details and give the cash to a friend who has Internet banking and pay it that way.

Many CredCrdCos have their bank details on the back of the statements so if he looked at an old statement he may find the details there.
