Paying with wrong credit card - company accounts

Hi

I looked at P11Ds and P9Ds and it is a bit confusing (sorry). What if I am a director in a company and accidentally paid for an expense directly related to work from my personal credit card instead of the usual company credit card? Will I need to fill in a P11D or P9D, etc, etc if I pay myself?

Thanks!

I don't see why! Reimursement of a genuine business expense is surely not a taxable benefit - unless being a director makes any difference?

you do monthly expenses I assume....just put it on there. Which lap dancing club was it ?

I don't think it makes any difference. When I was a director of a small company I used pay all my expenses myself (mainly petrol and accomodation) then claim it off the company at the end of the month. No P11Ds or any such paperwork were involved. So in the OPs case it's just a matter of putting an expenses claim in to the company. Tax man not involved.

It depends on what the expense was.

P11Ds are not simply for benefits.

It could well have to go on a P11D - lapdancing or not.

You may have had a dispensation but from your comment I doubt it.

P11Ds would be involved in your case. Unfortunately, despite it being sensible to not have to mess about with P11Ds in your case that is not how tax works.
