Payment in $US

Dec 12, 2003 3 Replies

I need to make a $1800 payment to someone in the US. What is the best way of doing the? They will take a CC but I believe that this will incur a cost from the CC company. Any advice would be appreciated.

You can instruct your bank to make a cash transfer straight into the other party's account in dollars.

If they take credit card that would be the cheapest way, esp if you have one from Nationwide with no foreign exchange charge. Other relatively cheap option is money order, from a bank, which you mail to your recipient. Banks charge around 10-15 to write a MO and exchange rate used is similar to TC. Electronic transfer is fast but more expensive, with a fee of 30+.

That will also incur a charge (probably more than a cc charge as well). Any way of doing it will incur a charge somewhere along the line, maybe shown, or maybe hidden in not-so-good exchange rates.
