Personal Loan Help

Dec 20, 2006 5 Replies

I have recently made an application for a loan to consolidate two existing debts that I have - a £10,000 personal loan and a £6,000 overdraft.

I initially applied to both Northern Rock, and then Intelligent Finance

- neither of whom would help me. I suspect the main reasons for this are that I am only 2 months into a new job, and also that I have had 4 addresses in the last three years.

I went and checked my credit file with Equifax, and my credit score is

471 - with 475 being the benchamark for 'excellent'.

I have since tried to get the loan through M&S Money, with no success. Does anyone have any idea which company should be willing to give me the loan?

I earn £32,000 per year, with my only debts being my £517 per month mortgage and my £151 per month loan, so affordability isnt the issue.

Any ideas?

All help is much appreciated!

Thanks,

Geordie

choose loans from homepage as you are not looking for mortgage. Or best for you might be to type consolidate loan onto their search box and you should have approximately a dozen solution to choose from. Hoping this helps...pappa

The trouble with trawling for loans like this is that you are likely to have a credit check done on you each time you apply. Each check puts a footprint on your record and each footprint can be regarded as a black mark by a prospective lender. Go to a proper broker who can go to the right place for you first time.

I think the internet is a very dangerous place for people who are looking for loans and mortgages and it should be banned. I notice that there are very few websites telling people how to remove an appendix if they want to do it themselves.

Ban the internet? Hey, if it stops junk email, I'm all for it!

That's because everyone already knows how to do it, they don't need to look it up or even ask their secretary. You remove an appendix from a document in exactly the same way you'd remove any other chapter. Typically you would click on the text and press "delete".

I like it. Good Christmas stuff.
