Portman BS or Staffordshire BS payout?

Jan 26, 2004 2 Replies

I understand the Portman BS and the Staffordshire BS have now become one?

Has either of the above made any payments due to their partnership and if so, how much?

Alternatively, are they going too, or have they de-mutualised?

Thanks in advance for any answers.

Yes. A merger bonus will be sent by cheque in mid-January to qualifying borrowers and savers of the Staffordshire. Each qualifying member of the Staffordshire will receive a minimum pre-tax merger bonus of £100, maximum £2,500. Details of the bonus arrangements were sent to eligible members in August.

For the Portman A merger bonus will be paid to Qualifying Shareholding Members and Qualifying Borrowing Members. The bonus to Qualifying Shareholding Members will be subject to a minimum bonus of £100 (pre-tax) and a maximum bonus of £2,500 (pre-tax). The bonus to Qualifying Borrowing Members will be £200 (pre-tax).

No, they are building societies.

Just out of interest, why didnt you google. I got the above with 'staffordshire Portman Building Society Merger'

Staffordshire members will get something:

I don't think Portman members will get anything as its the larger organisation.
