You get your stake back even if you do, don't you? I mean, each bond which wins doesn't then die, does it? It stays in the pool.
But it's nice for marketing to be able to give a "money-back guarantee" that you *will* win.
Yes, and if you go through the list of the people winning 5K or more a month you will often find the vast majority have significant amount of money 'invested' in the bonds.
Also, and this is perhaps a sign of where the wealth in the UK is, the South East seems to dominate with Surrey appearing, at a glance, to produce the most winners. There are parts of the country that can go months without anyone seeming to win a 'decent' prize.
I suppose it is a bit like the competitions in the Daily Mail where the winners nearly always seem to come from Surrey, Berkshire or some other South East county - odd that! :-)))
