Premium Bonds

Following an influx of funds, into our joint account, my wife and I each had a separate letter from the bank saying that they had tried to contact us but were unable and would we call then urgently to discuss a financial matter. They provided a mobile phone number to the person involved which I thought a bloody cheek as well. Have you ever tried contacting someone in your bank via land line all those Press 1 if, press 2 if..... then sorry...bbbrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. The letters arrived only a few days after the funds were deposited. Needless to say we had received no phone calls and no messages on our answer machine, so in short they were BSh!ting us.

This together with my attempts to get my company account closed hassle free has made me think about these 'financial experts. On the one or two (rare) occasions the account went overdrawn, even with substantial funds in a co deposit account (same bank) it only took them 24 hours to deduct 30 and get me a letter 1st class for the next day to slap my hand telling me I had been a naughty boy. Needless to say a swift strongly worded phone call had the

30 refunded in both cases.

They (the banks) do not deserve our money any more so we have invested in PB's at least with some chance of getting a return.
