Hi all
My girlfriend and myself are both working full time, earn reasonable salaries, have no poor credit history, no kids, relatively small morgage etc...
We applied on line for a loan advertised at 5.9 % 'TYPICAL' and were approved.
When the documents arrived, the actual offer was made at 8.9%.
I have spent a large amount of time on the phone, and the lady (who tried her best and was helpful) and they cannot tell me why I cant have the loan at 5.9%. They stress the point that the advert is only Typical, but what they can't tell me is why I'm not classed as being typical. They did say that 66% of people applying get the 5.9% rate, so why not me????
I put it to them that they were ripping me off by having me spend time applying under false pretences, knowing full well that they can't match my offer, but the reply was the standard ' Its done on a points system can't tell you why' (Little Britain 'computer says no' springs to mind!!)
Does anyone else know of people who have had problems
thanks
Andy
