Projected Future UK Interest Rates:

But I swear Tumbledick said they're going down!

This is only a projection. I still don't think UK rates will go up for quite some time even though they desperatly need to. The CPI inflation basket is deeply flawed.

Why and how do you think "they" project rising rates?

Irma

Does it matter? The only thing that matters is what they actually are and

4.5% - even with edited inflation at 2.5% looks likely for at least another few months yet. There will be no huge jump up in interest rates. The MPC will not allow it.

So what do you think the flaws are??

Actually the 4.5% number is the Base Rate. *Actual* interest rates are determined by the markets (supply and demand). The projected rates are taken from these markets (eg. CD and Bond rates). Irma
