Question about creditors and debts

Hi

My Mother-In-Law has asked me about something called "King's Realm"

A friend (of a friend) of hers apparently used this in court to get out of paying huges sums of debt by saying the would pay 1p per week (lowest coinage in the realm) and the creditor wrote the debt off.

I have tried googling for it for her and all I can find is Camelot theme park ;)

Is there such a thing?

Cheers

Les

Thank about it and then you will know whether to take it seriously.

Problem is that I think its a crock of shit but she takes it seriously and thinks it really is something that is an ancient unrepealed law and has even told creditors tonight she'll see them in court if they won't accept Kings Realm. Told her to contact CCCS or similar about her debts but is insisting that this King's Realm lark is legit.

You can't provide evidence that something doesn't exist precisely because it doesn't exist!

Best no to fall out with mother-in-law - just admit that you can't find any information about it and leave it at that.

Are you trying to say that the creditor(s) will have a hard time in court, because they'll find it difficult (impossible!) to provide evidence that "King's Realm" doesn't exist?

Hmmmm.....

No, the onus is on the debtor to prove there is such a crazy defence.
