Re: The Second Great Depression?

Quietly we read , unable to contain our credulity we realized that Bill Jillians said this:

Well I'm not rich but I do have a few thousand in a bank. Or it was

Well anyone that risked investing in NR at the end of last week just doubled their money or more.

NR has pulled out of its nose dive going up a massive 30% this Weds and another 5% yesterday.

Since there was so much short selling of the stock some would argue that it is undervalued still and on its way up still.

Others I'm sure are worried about the state of play and the ruined brand which is Northern Rock.

Lets just say I haven't sold any shares in NR yet and am keeping a tight grip on them for now.

Well NR shares are now worth less than a quid, so at half the price today compared to when you posted would you even more strongly recommend their purchase? as they're now double value compared to when you posted?

Not at the moment. At least until the danger of nationalization passes.

In mid October NR shares closed one Friday at 111. Within a week they were at 265. Anyone who invested at the right time more than doubled their money in less than 10 days.

I'm sure there are still fortunes to be won and lost on NR. Right now though it is more likely to be lost if the bank gets nationalised. Yesterday the price went down to 75. It rallied and finished the day just under 100. Making 1/3 of your money back plus the original investment in one day is a possibility now. But it is a risky game.
