On another point entirely - from that webpage, I found the following bits interesting:
Point 1: "... bailiffs have a right of peaceful entry only. This means that they cannot use force to enter your home, for example, by breaking a window or a door."
Point 2: "Once in the house the bailiff has the right to go into all rooms and can break open any locked door ..."
On face value, this means that a bailiff - encountering a porch where the outside door is always left unlocked, but the (main) inside front door is securely locked - has a right to break open the main (locked) front door?
But what if the porch happened to not have a door -- eg you just took the door off its hinges? Can they then (legally) walk though the empty doorframe & break down the inside (main) front door? And if so, is there anything that you can do to make it illegal for them to force your main front door (apart from putting a lock on the outside front door & using it all the time - or knocking down the porch completely!)??
