Tax question - entitled to P60 or not?

Hi, just a quick query - all help appreciated.

I joined an organisation and began work on March 16th 2003 (i.e. in the last tax year) but my first pay was not until April 30th 2003 (i.e. in this tax year)

Should I receive an end of year certificate (P60) for the April

2002-2003 year from my employer as technically I was on the books there before April 6th 2003? Or am I not entitled to one as all my pay went in after April 6th?

Cheers

Dave

You definately should have one. You may have not been given one if you hadn't been entered onto their payroll software in time for the year end though. I don't know why you're bothered if all the amounts will be nil.

IIRC, only employees who have a P11 working sheet should receive a P60. This probably excludes you, as the P11 would not be raised until after 5 April

2003.

A "P60" is not for the U.S. system of tax, and you didn't specify what country you were in.... If you want help, you need to identify the taxing jurisdiction.

Only if one views the "newsgroups" header..... Some people use an abbreviated header display.
