I am doing my EC Sales List for vat purposes and I am trying to get the vat numbers for a couple of sales I have done. However, the companies who bought a service from me are not replying.
What implications does this have for my vat form and what I pay?

You ought to get the VAT number and check it before making the sale.
I had this issue a few years ago - my local VAT office actually got the correct numbers for me. You could try them. In my experience their system does check the numbers you enter on the list against issued numbers overseas - of course you could use a code for the wrong company.
