You need to add the following fields in the Item Wizard filter.
Sale Price Sale Start Date Sale End Date

I agree it would be a nice feature. Not only would it help to have 'sale end date' to filter on, but we need it available as a field to print on a sale sign. This way we can pull the signs as they expire. Right now I have to use a 3rd party label app to do this.

There are scripts available from Microsoft which can be used with Sub-descriptions (as long as they are available and not being used). This was not an option for us. Currently - items 'on sale' are placed into a Web Order category, and filtered from there.
Would make more sense to be able to filter items for labels by Sale Start/End dates.
