RMS Work Order Add-In

HAMILTON, ON - December 5, 2006 - Advanced Computer Systems Inc is pleased to announce the release of their latest add-in for Microsoft?s Retail Management System (RMS) platform, the Advanced Work Order System (AWS). AWS features direct integration with the RMS database, allowing stores to expand the role of RMS into their service business.

AWS was developed in co-operation with a number of service depots and repair centres who are using RMS for their retail operations. With AWS, technicians and service managers are able to enter work order details from a back-office station, indicating all labour charges, parts and prices for the repair. Once a customer is ready to pay for their repair, cashiers at the Point-Of-Sale can lookup the repair using the RMS native Recall Work Order functionality and all charges will be brought into the POS for tendering.

The benefits of AWS include:

- RMS Work Order Integration. Allows you to create and manage work orders from within AWS, which can then be recalled from the RMS POS for tendering.

- Customizable Lists and Fields. Customizable Status, Priority and Category lists, and 14 customizable work order text fields.

- RMS Customer Database Integration: Uses the RMS Customer List for assigning work orders, as well as creating and managing customers directly from AWS.

- Customer Equipment Database ("Tags"). Allows you to use the Serial Number or other unique identifier for keeping a history on the equipment that is being repaired. Tags include 10 customizable text fields to record details of the item (e.g. Make, Model, Colour, etc.)

- RMS Items Database Integration. Uses the RMS Items List for adding parts to a work order

- RMS Cashier Database Integration. Use RMS Cashier IDs for employee login to AWS, and for assigning work orders to a particular employee.

- Customizable Reports. Uses Crystal Reports for customizable reports, and allows for printing multiple work order layouts (e.g. for warranty forms, estimates, finished work orders, etc.)

- Keyboard Accessibility. All functions and fields have keyboard shortcuts which allow for quick and efficient data entry without requiring a mouse.

In addition to these features, Advanced Computer Systems is committed to taking end-user feedback and are constantly improving the features within AWS. A primary goal behind AWS is to make as flexible as possible so that it will fit into any number of different business models.
